Frequently asked questions
Is this program up and running yet?
NYC taxis have been equipped with Passenger Information Monitors for the past two years. TVG will load the “interactive” video program during the last week of October and the first two weeks of November existing customers loaded at that time will be streamed for the entire 46 week run. The program will be “live” in all 1200 taxis on or about December 9, 2009. Taxi Video Guide (TVG) has been successfully running our proprietary software in Miami, Bermuda, Aruba, Curacao and Puerto Rico for the past 6 years.

How is ROI Guaranteed?
Making a guarantee on ROI is impossible. However, the TVG program provides the ability to track every customer that sees the businesses video and all responses to the exclusive offer with our text to phone couponing. When the rider texts the dedicated code for the business, they will receive in return on their phone a electronic coupon offer. The code designates to customers the businesses exclusive offer only found throughout the TVG program. When using the text coupon to phone system, both the business and TVG will keep track of all responses. We can also use a dedicated phone number for internet responses. TVG is confident that our unique approach to marketing businesses as a destination in 1200 NYC taxis will provide tangible positive results.

Are you able to provide case studies of successes with other advertisers?
As you are aware there are successful non-interactive video programs implemented in NYC taxis, TVGs uniqueness is being 100% interactive. Currently our programs are successfully utilized in Miami and the Caribbean and have had a tremendous impact on where people choose to go. The most reliable evidence is that, over the past six years we have retained virtually all of our advertisers. We have testimonials from the Intercontinental, one of the largest Hotels in Miami.

How are you able to price so much lower than competitors?
Our competitors are using the traditional commercial advertising model with large overheads and a significant cost of doing business from both the creative (licensing and royalty fees) and the media purchasing side of distribution. TVG designed, developed and owns the proprietary software for this program and has an efficient staff that works in multiple markets. In addition, TVG has an “in house” Production Company. All of these factors allow us to save our clients tens of thousands of dollars.

What are the statistics for how often the unit is turned off by the rider?
Based on Digital Dispatch, the number is 5% but that is due to its current format. The new Taxi Video Guide program is less intrusive and controlled by the user therefore we expect that number to be even lower.

With the exclusive placement what if the rider doesn’t select the correct category?
TVG's program was designed to be user friendly, if a rider presses the wrong button it is very simple to return to the intended content.

What if no one touches the screen? |
Good question. This illustrates the powerful value of our program. If no one touches the screen, a loop of all the videos will play. When a passenger enters a taxi, the meter is activated and the video loop will begin to play from the point of where it left off with the last passenger. Each video will be 20-seconds long and shown on 1200 taxi screens. The average taxi ride will be 14 minutes. If we disregard the first minute and last minute, in a typical ride, the rider/s will view 36 videos. Since there will be a maximum of 100 videos, your video will be shown again on average every 4th ride.
